Lunacon was fun. I enjoyed it. Got some books, and a totebag, and started the shawl, and chatted with a lot of people and it was just *good*.

On the way home, we stopped at an engagement party (as you do.) The couple are both grad students at YU - jonbaker knows the groom from online. Most of the other guests were also grad students. So. At one point, most of the young men had left to say mincha (evening prayers), leavning me, a bunch of young women and a couple of husbands - including mine.

The bride was wearing deliberately mismatched socks, which one of her guests noticed while I was sitting nearby. So I joked that she probably has another pair just like the one she had one.

Whereupon the guest asked, politely, if I were the bride's mother.

It made sense. I was amused. But. It means I'm now bubby aged!

You used to wear socks like that, when we were dating. I remember the avocado green t-shirt and black jumper, with one green and one black sock.

Of course, that kallah was probably a toddler back then...

It is mathematically possible for me to be a grandmother - children at 22, grandchildren at 45. Very possible.
