I was flipping channels tonight, and what did I find on a channel called "Chiller?"

A Beauty and the Beast marathon, with slow, turgid music and beautiful photography and UST to end all UST.

And it's the first season, when they were still focusing on the romance and the gentleness and...yeah. I'm back substitute teaching right after college.

*swoons* I was SUCH a Catherine/Vincent shipper... I actually quit watching as of the season 3 premier. Never finished out the show after that...

I think I might have to splurge with some of my tax return and get the show on DVD...

Oh, I watched a lot of that on internet movie database not long ago. (they have video embeds now) Big Catherine and Vincent 'shipper as a teenager, although the melodrama seems a lot thicker on the ground now than it did then. And I had such a geek!crush on Mouse....

p.s. it is now officially Your Fault that I am reading really bad BatB fanfic instead of writing a cover letter.

I'm not so sure about that.

It does have a monster - a gentle, sweet, noble monster who makes us swoon, but still - what better for a Valentine's Day marathon?

And it's not as funny as when Spike (Television for Men, like they don't have almost every OTHER channel) aired Highlander...

well, Highlander has...strapping manly men, with enormous penises swords, doing manly things like beheading other men and having earthshattering orgasms.

That's pretty. You know. Manly. For Men.

I somehow became a fan of BATB myself without (so far as I recall) any female friend or SO being involved, when it aired on CBS. (It may have had something to do with my longstanding lust for Linda Hamilton.) Since then I have seen Ron Perlman doing all kinds of things (including both HELLBOY movies) and realized he really can act.

Perlman is one of those guys who can act through makeup, which I've always been impressed by. It's easy to overlook his acting in BatB because the show is so outrageously Romantically Cheesy, but the physicality and expressiveness needed to do Vincent and Hellboy are just incredible!
