We bought a fair amount. So.

1. The game of Portal and the game controller arrived. (We heard Jonathan Coulton's "Still Alive" filked a half-dozen times at the last housefilk. So. Time to get the game.)

2. The new Sansa Clip arrived. My current MP3 player is dying, so it's time for a new one. Because the idea of folding laundry without a professor discussing literature in my ears is dire.

3. The G wireless router for my new laptop arrived. As has the bag for the new laptop.

4. New laptop? Has NOT arrived. We've gotten books and pears and yarn, but no laptop. I want my LAPTOP, darn it.

(Laptop is a 45th birthday present. Birthday was over a month ago - November 5. We were all excited about some election result or other at the time.)

Hey, I have Portal! I haven't started it yet, either. But I need to get a game controller.

My ridiculous* Adon Olam videogame medley [of doom] that my a cappella group sang had "Still Alive" in it. So now when I think of the chorus it's "v' acharei kichlot hakol..." (I think this also has to do with the fact that I don't know the real lyrics.)

*Ridiculous in that it sounded really cool in theory, but when we started learning it, it was really, really difficult. There are at least 11 different songs in it, and also there were 5 or 6 different voice parts, plus soloists (and our group only has 13 members). Also the rhythms were unnecessarily complicated... We cut out a lot of the middle because it was taking us so long and we had all of our other music to learn. But I started feeling better about my own musical abilities once I was working on everything else. This was really the only song that was really hard to learn, but since we started with it, it was discouraging.
