If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

I feel like I've known you forever thru the FuhQers, ya know?

And of course, I adore the fact that you write birthday stories for people, including me!

*hee*

One day, I'll do that again.

I think I'm a bit burnt out on birthdays.

Totally understandable! I'd considered doing something like that myself, but never got around to it.

Talking about the Golem when I was researching that fic. Which I did finish and I still think it's one of my best.

early on after I stumbled across fandom (1998/99), I discovered your stories - the X-Files stories in particular stuck with me, and I still remember several fondly.

after finding you on LJ, it's been terrific to get to know more about you the person, and to somewhat broaden my (limited) knowledge of the practices/tenets of Judaism. thanks for sharing information and your creativity!

That long ago - wow.

Weren't you also in the Due South room on Squidge?

I was for a time, mostly as a lurker. I fell seriously hard into dueSouth fandom 1999/2000, but wasn't very active until I became more involved with Bindlestitch, the list with no restrictions. that freed some of my inhibitions, readying me for fannish interactions at cons and on LJ

you were very kind to me when my mom/grandmom was dying. I remember that particularly because my employer was hassling me about sitting shiva and you were just marvelous. That was a bit more than a decade ago now.

I remember being stranded in NYC the night before Thanksgiving and having this awesome woman I only knew online come to my rescue, take me into her home, give me a place to rest the night and get me back on my train come morning.

You could have come with us to my mother-in-law's for dinner, too, if necessary.

We were pleased to do it.

I only see you once a year at Arisia and haven't gotten to know you well, yet, so here goes.

I attended a fanfic gathering on a floor above mezz'--this might have been the last year we were at the Park Plaza--and you were intent on knitting something off-white (I assumed you might have been knitting something for a baby). I forgot what prompted you to comment, but you piped up very cheerily, "Porn is good for you!" Or words to that effect. You said it without a trace of irony or wink-wink-nudge-nudge, all the while concentrating on your knitting, which made it all the funnier.

Good memory!

Cheers,
Ande/Wicked Good Grrrl

I think I remember that - if I was intently knitting something off-white, I was knitting my *very* first mitten, and the first knitting project I'd done in years and years.

And it is, you know. :)

Knittin' a mitten as your first project in years? Wow! You just made that memory that much more special! (I think it had to be just after the end of Shabbat, too--it was on Saturday afternoon, and what little I do know the scriptures forbid the tying of knots on the Sabbath? You also said something about being glad to get back to that project after having to put it aside for a few hours/a day, or I'm conflating.)

Y'all come over to my LJ; coincidentally I have a newbie problem that affects you, sort of (re: my entries posted today). Nothing serious, just want to give credit where credit is due, and don't know how.

I shall take your advice under advisement...or sumthin' ; )

Cheers,
Ande (WGG)

Hi! I write LOTR, DC Comics, and a smattering of other fantasy & SF fandoms over at my other journal. I'll pop over to yours and tell you where you can find my fics.

I haven't been to Arisia since 2006, alas. Maybe I'll go in 2009.

That fic totally changed my life--I know that sounds weird and slightly obsessive, but still one of the best stories I've ever read, and when I found out for the first time that I wasn't alone in how I perceived the X-Files.

So if I never said it before, thank you!

That's one of my favorite stories that I've written. It was the first time I was able to write from Mulder's POV, and the first time I'd plotted any sort of crime. I'm very proud of it.

Thank you so very much.
