I just got a phone call from my husband. Apparently, we're going to a benefit dinner honoring a friend of his.

Tomorrow night. 6PM. Waldorf.

I have to spend the day in a dress suit. Let's hope the suit actually fits.

I think I might take a sweater to wear at work over the underblouse and skirt, and change to the jacket before I leave. I won't worry about the evening purse.

Could you put your evening purse inside of your day bag? I often toss an evening bag inside my workbag, put some jewelery inside it, then leave the day bag at my desk (or in my car) while I use the evening bag.

I think I'll take my new tote bag with me to work - it'll hold my sweater, evening bag and knitting bag, and I can put my day purse and belt pouch in there when I get to the hotel. I can probably check it with my coat. I'd use a backpack, but I'm going to wear my lovely fake mink, and that just doesn't go.

Backpacks don't go with mink. Tim Gunn says so. :)
