No room

This is insane. I tried to reserve two different hotel rooms for two different conventions.

Both are sold out for Saturday night. Just Saturday.

One of the cons is in January. *Sigh*

Crisis averted. I tried a different type of room (Active vs. Quiet) since the Shabbat block instructions only said "nonsmoking", and I made the reservation for Arisia.

It's not ideal, but if it doesn't work out, there are definitely other spaces possible. (At least it's motza'i Shabbat....)

Could it be for the whole time? The reservation system is rather screwy, and we'd have to move twice. We're planning to come up on Thursday night - not traveling from NY to Boston on Friday in the winter. We tried that once. Bad idea.

I'd really like to have my room to myself for most of the con; I don't arrange room shares except in exceptional circumstances.

I don't recall any hotels in walking distance from last year. It was why it was so important we got a room on site.

I think my definition of walking distance is skewed from most people's...
I know that they supposedly have shuttles running to the overflow hotel, which would be doable after Shabbat.
