I felt utterly uninspired about dinner tonight when I went shopping, so...

I took several cloves of fresh garlic, grated them on my microplane (microplanes are amazingly useful) and mixed the grated garlic with olive oil. This I spread very lightly under the skin of my normal chicken-in-eighths and put in a 450F oven.

My house smells *amazing*.

Otherwise - potato kugel and stringbeans.

Do you know if it's possible to make a kugel without onions?

It depends on the kugel. When I make salt and pepper noodle kugel, I don't use onions. Most sweet kugels are also onion free - yerushalmi, raisin and cinnamon, sweet dairy, apple. I don't use them in my sweet potato kugels, either.

And while I like onions in savory ones, they can be left out if you don't share my tastes.

Thanks: I have tons of recipes for them, but they all contain onions so I never make one. I'll try substituting zucchini and red peppers.
