Hebrew Birthdays
Oct. 23rd, 2002 10:40 pmIt's mine. Also my older brother's. The date is Chai Cheshvan, the 18th of the month of Cheshvan. It's also his English birthday. That's odd in that his age is *not* a multiple of 19, when that sort of thing tends to happen.
So. We invited my brother to dinner, which I cooked. Marc is very fussy, so I had to be careful.
I made mesclun with yellow tomatoes and red onion in a mustard/garlic vinaigerette of cider vinegar and plain olive oil; panfried trout files spiced with citrus pepper and served with steamed brussel sprouts and baked potatoes; pears and brie. We had a nice white wine that went well with the fish and the cheese.
I'm pleased.
