I'm wearing a newish white cotton sweater. I've already worn it once and got beef "stroganoff" gravy on it. 98% of that came out.

I just spilled coffee on it.

*Sigh*

(This is why we wear white on Yom Kippur - no chance of getting it stained.)

with my luck I'd find something to stain it with even without the help of food.

Is gots two words for you, hon- Baby Wipes. By brand, I like Huggies, but any decent one will do.

What does this have to do with food stains on white shirts/sweaters? They get the stuff out. No joke. I have gotten Chinese dark sause out completely of white and light colored shirts. Just carry them with you and hit the stain as it happens.

I use to carry them when I would come up to the city on vacation cause they are bigger and better than Wet Wipes and cool you off when its hot, too. Then someone told me about the food stain thing.

And even if you don't get all the stain out right away, because you hit as it happened with the baby wipe, it disappears when you wash it.

Do you carry a tide pen?
Those things really work! It can get grape juice out of a t-shirt.

Boy, is that familiar. I wore a cream colored cotton sweater today and managed to spill coffee on it. I didn't even notice until I got to work.

That sounds so much like something I would do.

Another vote for the Tide pen. I find it very helpful for getting out stains right after you have them.
