One of the reasons I get my groceries delivered is that I live in a 2nd floor apartment. I don't mind tipping someone to carry my stuff up a flight of stairs.

Also, it means I don't have to think about the weight of my purchases.

I made my purchases, gave them my phone number so they could look up my address, which was there, and went straight home.

And waited. And waited. And waited. Normally this place delivers almost immediately. I've come home to find the delivery person ringing my doorbell. Not this time.

Turns out, they left the box (big, heavy, *full* box) in my foyer. Without ringing my doorbell. Which is working nicely - I had a fedex delivery and accepted a package for my landlady today. So I'm not getting my laundry today, I shall be a little late for the wedding *and* I had to carry the whole thing upstairs myself.

Blergh.

On the other hand, they did not get their tip. And I'm not a cheap tipper.

Do they charge for delivery? If so, I'd demand a refund. If not, I'd still call and ask the manager to inform the delivery person what sort of tip he'd come so close to getting.
