I'm getting Shabbat off

mamadebYesterday, when I was in a local kosher supermarket getting stuff for dinner (my take on shepherd's pie - ground beef, onions and peppers sandwiched between two layers of mashed potatoes), a friend of mine on the line next to me asked what if I'd gotten my food for Friday night. I hadn't. We're going to her house.
Later, as I was cooking the shepherd's pie, my husband's teacher called. He's a lovely man who lives about a block away. And we're going to their house for lunch.
Which is good because I was having a problem figuring out what to make.
We should get wine to bring them.
