A small plane or helicopter just crashed into an apartment house on E.72nd St and York Ave in Manhattan.
I'm shaking a bit here in Brooklyn.

(http://newsradio88.com) is saying it's not considered to be terrorism.
M works noticeably lower (49th St, 2nd Ave), so should be fine. I do need to call my friend, who lives at 1st Ave and 70th St, though.

damn. forgot a clause:
"not considered to be terrorism, but NORAD is scrambling fighters, anyway, in accord with current protocol."

I can't get the website here...
And protocol...makes sense here. Thank you.

The FAA is currently saying a small, general-aviation plane.

Nod. Not a helicopter. Also, CNN knows not of Manhattan geography.

Also, that fire's too big and expanded too fast to have been anything as small as the kind of copters that land at the helipad.
NBC reported it as a small, fixed-wing private plane flying on VFR.

Okay...that's...I don't know.
Small craft aren't allowed to fly over the city for just this reason.
Someone was very stupid.
