I need new shoes for the fall.

I want cute and not-orthopedic looking.

This is my Easy Spirit Wish List. Any of these shoes might do.

EDIT:

Carlene

Umaywish

Attestor

Chala in Burgundy

Chala in Black

Opinions?

They want me to sign in as you to get the list (or at least that link asks for a pw). Try again, or just list the styles. The Future of Fandom & I normally shop at Easy Spirit, so we may have tried them on already.

I like Carlene the best.

Carlene is cute, although the velcro is an issue.

These are to be work and shul shoes.

First issue: how do you feel about velcro? FoF scorns all velcro-closed shoes, saying (rightly, alas) that "they're for old people." I find that the end of the velcro strap *always* curves up over time like a little tongue (not staying down neatly the way it is in the picture), so they don't keep that all-strapped-down look.

If this bothers you, Umaywish is your choice.

If the velcro issue doesn't bother you, how much do your ankles tend to get cold? If they do, stay away from Attestor. If they get hot, like mine, go for Attestor.

I like Attestor, but only in Black -- the pale line on the Brown sole is ugly as sin IMHO.

Of the others I like Carlene best -- the strap line on Chala looks not-quite-right to my eye.

Velcro does bother me a little, for those reasons. Also, it attracts things like hair - the velcro in my wrist brace (the one I sleep in) covered in that.

Umaywish is cute, and so is Carlene.

I'm more worried about support than temperature.

You think Umaywish will look okay with semi-formal clothing?

*sigh* Probably not. Motion (http://www.easyspirit.com/s?namespace=catalog&origin=viewall_category.jsp&event=p.shoe&pid=4882&cid=1073) is the only laced one I'd wear to shul. *looks at calendar* arrghh!

Not that Easy Spirit isn't comfy, but I'm a big fan of naturalizer, Naot's and actually [livejournal.com profile] estherchaya has a pair of... ummm, I'm going to guess, I'm probably wrong, sketchers that she says are insanely comfortable that she wore for the Shabbos I was there.

I'm not really a fan of the ones you picked out, but I am only 22. =p

Really, try Naot's (http://www.naot.com/Womens/womens.html).

The Attestor is my favorite.

There's also one on there called Uptown that I really like.

I've looked at all of them several times, and Attestor is my favourite. Umaywish would be fine with casual wear, but not what I would wear with a skirt. Chala is nice, too.

Another issue to consider is how high an arch do you have? If you have a high arch, I would stay away from the Carlene and Chala, unless you'll be able to try them on first and make sure they're comfortable, particularly on the tops of your feet. I have extremely high arches, so I would go for the Attestor or the Umaywish, but this might not be a problem for you.

What are these things "arches?"? :)

I have very flat feet. Also, unstable ones which need a lot of support.

The Chala looks the most elegant of the lot, though with that name, I was expecting braided leather *ducks*.

Points about velcro are worth considering, especially if you live with cats.
