In the oven:
One chicken cut in eighths and marinated for several hours in ginger, garlic, scallions, soy sauce, hot pepper flakes, sesame oil, cider vinegar (couldn't reach the rice wine vinegar) and water.

Brown basmati rice in the rice cooker

One package of string beans thawing (couldn't find fresh ones). To be tossed with soy sauce, sesame oil and sesame seeds.

Lunch will be a salad made with greens, scallions, cherry tomatoes. left over chicken, slivered almonds tossed with rice wine vinegar (Jonathan can reach it), sesame and light olive oil and soy sauce and topped with Chinese noodles.

And therefore, all I need to do right now is knit. And make some coffee.

You make me giggle. Seriously.

I, however, am eating a lemon ice dessert and 1) I need to wash the lemon better before putting the ice back in it because it still kinda tastes a little bit waxy. 2) MORE SUGAR. omg.

What? I'm short. :)

Sugar doesn't tempt me. Pistachio nuts...

I should have added that it's a good thing I don't have a sweet tooth, since I'm Type II diabetic.

All those cookies in a Certain Common Room? No. :)

I love your food descriptions--everything always sounds so tasty but not fussy or difficult to make.

Also, your recipe for Sarah's Pasta has become one of my favorite quick easy summerish meals, and my family approves as well.

I don't cook anything fussy or difficult. :)

And I am so, so happy that you like that dish. It's one of my favorites, too.
