Because the weather has been so hot and I've been lazy, I haven't been walking.
And I'm going to take a break from Pakua for a few weeks as life goes a bit nuts and I need my nights - among other things, I've agreed to work full time the first two weeks of August - except I'm leaving at 4 on Friday and not working on Tisha B'Av.
But the weather was lovely this morning, so I got up, pulled on my walking shoes and, well. Did it. Walked a bit further than I expected, too.
It also gave me a chance to play with my new toy, the Sandisk Sansa MP3 player. And I have to say - it made a difference. (Note - while I avoid live instrumental music during the Three Weeks, I do listen to recordings.) I initially listened to Boogie Knights, who filk rock songs, and the beat got me started at a decent pace that I could maintain even when I moved to Urban Tapestry.
I'll probably change to lectures or religious classes during the Nine Days themselves, but that'll also help.
