Something I just realized - I have not read a new HP story since HBP came out. And while I've been writing a little bit, it's all been in a long story that I began three weeks before HBP came out and it was thoroughly jossed.

Which I expected.

Anyway. Anyone have good stories to recommend? I want long, I want well-written. I want Draco/Harry or Snape/Harry, or Remus/Sirius, or maybe something sweet with Neville, perferably with Harry. I don't mind AUs, but canon would be nice. Rating doesn't matter, but I'd like plotty.

And I want them posted past HPB, please.

Not asking for much, am I? :)

Title: Möbius
Author: Mandy (aka [livejournal.com profile] geneticallydead)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: HP/SS
Summary: Ten years after the fall of Voldemort, Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts, celebrated as the saviour of the wizarding world. In the history books, Harry Potter stood over the hollow corpse of Lord Voldemort, vibrant and triumphant, and incinerated that withered old body to the depths of hell. The real truth was, Severus Snape killed Voldemort.
Not Harry Potter.

Or you could read it on [livejournal.com profile] geneticallydead's LJ.

Trust me, this is stunning.

As a story, it was brilliant, and she got the characters dead on. Heartbreaking, too. Thank you.

But. I've never been fond of that particular theory, even when it involved other characters. I'm not sure why. So.

Oh, I agree, I don't like the theory at all.

But the writing!!!

Oh, yes. The writing is wonderful. Which is why I finished the story even after I saw where it was going.

Oooh! Oooh! Read mine! Chapters 1 & 2 are up on my journal, but if you want the whole, not-quite-edited thing, I can always email it.

I second the recommendation of Möbius.

Some other fine post-HBP Snarry:

Okay - reading The Fourth Year now, and the only reason I'm stopping is that I have to go home. It's very, very good. Thank you for the rec.

If you want long, I have a WIP H/D novel (currently about 104,000 words, although whether it is well-written or not you will have to judge) that was begun post-HBP.

Better Than Revenge (http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=9537) - this is a link to the skyehawke location, it's on LJ but at currently 25 chapters, all-in-one-place seems better. R rating, and I'm trying to be both canonical and reasonably plotty!

Well... I'm hoping within the next month or so, but I'm notoriously wrong about how long my stories will end up being and how long it will take me to write them. RL has this annoying way of interfering.

Nod. That I certainly understand. Let me know, then.

Or maybe I'll have that community I threatened to make up and running.

Did you read "Saving Draco Malfoy" by [livejournal.com profile] ddayspring? She posted it as a wip in her lj, starting before HBP came out but finishing afterwards. It's probably available all in one piece at her website (http://dayspring.skeeter63.org/).

Heh. Shows how I think. Between your keyboard icon and your "HP thoughts" subject line, I was wondering what sorts of wisdom you had to share about Hewlett-Packard.

Yeah. I'm a dork. I know. :-)

BS"D

Either that or I'm the dork because someone on my flist was writing about her trouble with her PC today and I assumed from "HP" in her subject line that she'd surely be talking about Harry Potter.

Post HPB Remus/Sirius would be necrophilia or ghost sex, wouldn't it?
