Where I am

mamadebI am at my in-laws in the Catskills right now, eating up Wendy's phone line. I should get off soon. I'm actually breathing, although I can taste the pollen behind the zyrtec, so I'm happy. It's also cooler, for which I am also happy.
However...I wish i were back home.
Because my mother is in trouble again. Or rather, because trouble has found Mom. Last night, when she and a neighbor were having dinner and a movie, their building burned down. Seems a couple of little boys, unsupervised, were playing with matches in a top floor apartment. She's fine, because she wasn't there. They had her new car, so it's fine. Her neighbor's car was damaged. And her house is unlivable. She's staying with my brother and was able to retrieve her jewelery and her phone and her phonebook, and some changes of underwear. Most of her property is, thank God, fine. She will need to get a new place to live, though
