mamadebThere's a couple in my office right now, looking for housing.
They're from New Orleans - they'd happened to come to NY for a vacation. They were already in financial trouble and were taking a break before starting over. They'd left their dog in a kennel.
While the place where they lived was high and dry, they can't get back in. And their dog was fine, too - just a little thin. As they found 44 days later, using parental connections to enter the city.
And now - they're in NY looking for housing and employment and with no credit.
"Now we can't go back there."
