I'm going to be taking the notary exam tomorrow. We decided this twenty minutes ago, and I printed out the booklet.

Am I right in thinking that the test is very simple - all I need to do is read the booklet a couple of times and maybe on the way there?

In Maryland, that would be too much. I'm betting NY is similar.

In Colorado and Massachusetts, there is no exam, you simply need to fill out an application and have it signed by four character witnesses, one of which must be an attorney.

In a serendipitous twist, I just got my commission last week. :)

I was thinking of doing it a few years ago, and read the booklet. I don't remember any of it now, but I remember thinking that it was dead easy.

in Oregon, it's an open book test that you complete and mail off - easiest official "test" I've ever done.
