In March I went to a bar mitzvah. The boy looked like - well, himself. Your standard 13 year old. Baby fat still clinging to him, more child than teenager, shorter than me. Normal. And I've watched this boy grow up. I've known him since he was 8 days old.

He went to camp this summer. He just came back.

I didn't recognize him. He's. Tall. And the baby fat is gone. And his voice had changed.

It happens remarkably fast. I remember being away at college one semester and coming back and calling my cousin's house. My younger cousin answered and I thought he was his older brother. It completely stunned me. He sounded all growed up.

Isn't it freaky when they do that? I don't recognize my cousins. I used to feed them a bottle and now they are taller than I am!

The three year old getting his first haircut and the bar mitzvah boy coming home from summer camp I think generally mark two of the biggest insta-changes in a boy...
