Random Thoughts

Most of the changes made sense and changed very little. I liked the heads. I loved the gentle bonding between Harry and Remus. I liked Snape protecting the children from Remus. And I loved the twins.

This has the last "happy" ending in the series. After this, people die.

I'd've like to have met Cedric for that reason. And, yes. One needs to know the books.

6. Not directly, but he does seem to appear in the pictures in the background.

Some tiny nits:
I found it odd that Our Heroes spent so much time in street clothes, rather than their academic robes.
Not only no tale of the Marauders, but no explanation of why Remus knew what it was when it was blank, and knew how to make it work.
For the person who hadn't read the book, it seemed odd to spend so much time on the divination class but have it go nowhere after the foreshadowing.

I thought that that fact (that Remus knew what the map was and how it worked) was how Cuaron was telling us that Remus must have made it, or at least had a part in making it.

That makes sense, but it also could've been a hint that Remus had used the map when he was at Hogwarts, without having made it.

I found it odd that Our Heroes spent so much time in street clothes, rather than their academic robes.

I didn't really mind, figuring that when they were in their robes they were attending classes, otherwise it was either a weekend or free period or something.

I can't honestly remember if the going to Hogsmeade is a school outing or not nor what the kids were wearing but given that Black is supposed to be an evil genius , the occasion shown in the film was appeared to be a school event...?

It's late. I'm rambling. And need to see the film more than once. :)

I had read (in EW, I think?) that the director wanted to cut out Trelawney entirely, but JKR said that she was necessary because of her future storyline (since OotP didn't come out until about halfway through production of PoA).

I'd think Snape would have that handy. I'd also think that a man who's a werewolf would remember to take his meds. I mean, it's not like you're forgetting your water pill. Maybe the guy needs a patch.

Finally saw it tonight. Everything about Remus and Sirius set my slash radar off and I barely have a slash radar. By the time Snape said the "married couple" line I was honestly wondering if someone was hinting at something, somewhere (and I never think stuff like that).

If I hear one more person complain that Remus and/or Sirius was not handsome enough I will scream. This is Harry Potter, not a bishounen (beautiful male) festival. Yeesh. (Besides they looked great, but even if they didn't, get over it).

Yeah the werewolf thing was weird and unaccounted for, I'm thinking maybe the potion never works fully and he would have been OK inside and didn't mean to go out?
