Seriously.

I went to my doctor today because of [livejournal.com profile] jonbaker, who'd been nagging me to do this for half of last week. I went feeling like the queen of hypochondriacs. I mean, one mention of migraine and my head aches for a week? *Sheesh* And the med didn't really work, either.

And we talk and I mention that after a week of pain, it had gotten easier *and* I felt lightheaded, but there was pain around my eyes.

And he asked me if my sinuses drain. Yeah, all the time, and it's thick.

And he pressed under my cheekbones. And it *hurt*. And it's not supposed to hurt at all. And he said it might well be sinusitis, which also has similar symptoms to what I've been having.

Here's the thing, though. Chronic sinusitis is probably unfun, but it can be cured with antibiotics, like the big horsepills I now have. And then it's gone. And my face stops hurting and my head stops hurting, and I can sleep lying down, maybe.

And it's not a big monster waiting to eat my life. That's a big thing. :)

I'm very glad you went...I had a doctor who constantly told me I was having migraines. Strangely enough, when I began taking an allergy drug for my sinuses...the headaches stopped.

Huh.

I take Zyrtec at least every other day. Doesn't do a thing for the nose.

Also, I seriously think I do get migraines, but very, very infrequently.

Sending prayers your way that the antibiotics take care of this.

Oh yes, sinusitis is a lot of fun. Not. My vision problems back in November were because of rolling sinus infection. It took three rounds of antibiotics to get rid of them (first the lower sinuses, then the uppers, which feels like someone has set their thumbs against your eyebrows and is pressing in, hard).

But antibiotics do get rid of them. And you feel so good when it's gone.

Ooh. It would be nice if the problem could be made to go away with a few horsepills.

But did you actually mean to write "chronic", or "acute"? A chronic problem would keep coming back to bite you, wouldn't it?

Doctor said "chronic" and it wouldn't surprise me.

At this point, very little would surprise me.

But even if it comes back, I can deal. I can deal *now* - no migraine monster.
