Wednesday night, my old synagogue is having an awards dinner. My boss is also a member of this synagogue, which is how I got the job in the first place. And she is getting a richly deserved award.

So. Because I'm a former long term member of the synagogue and a former board member and I'm going to attend the dinner and know my boss and am a woman (the award is the Aishet Chayil, Woman of Valor award), I was just asked to present it.

I accepted. Now I have to write a speech.

I was less nervous getting that yellow belt.

Fortunately, the award itself has provided me with a text. They're going to get a (very brief) talk on the Woman of Valor itself.
