The Authority has begun again, in a new ongoing series.

The world is *afraid* of them (big shock, no?) and they have to deal with that. There is an extrademensional threat.

And the first scene in the Carrier is in Apollo and Midnighter's bedroom. And bed. With a sweet good morning kiss. And no mask for Midnighter, either.

Get it. It's good.

YES! WHEE! YAY! I miss the Authority! I miss Apollo and the Midnighter. I also miss the Doctor....

I'll be picking this one up today if possible. Thanks for the heads up!

Do you read Promethea, by any chance?

No. I'm trying to cut down on my comics, since they cost a lot.

It's not working, but I'm trying.

If you're cutting down on comix reading, go for quality. Promethea is quality with a capital "qua?" Alan Moore at his ... most esoteric. I recommend it highly.

Except, I'm this total DC junkie.

I mean, I left Xman 1 and walked into my local comic shop, after a 24 year hiatus in reading, and walked past the Marvel racks to the DC ones.

And there so much catch up to do...

Really? I thought it rather sucked, personally. I found it stilted, predictable, and patronizing. And they seem to have substituted "cheap and crass" for "gritty and hard-hitting". But my first impressions have been wrong in the past... maybe it will get better.

It's not as good as the first twelve issues, I'll grant you that. I miss Jenny Sparks.

But compared to the way it was in the last few...it's good.

Yeah, the end of the last Authority was... regrettable.

thanks for the heads up!

crap, I'm laid up for a few weeks and can't get to my pusher - hopefully they'll remember my standing order for The Authority, and will shove it in my box, but just in case, maybe I'd better call today to make sure.

SQUEEEEE!
