Ah, kitniyot
May. 2nd, 2008 06:05 pmIn the rice cooker: rice. Well, two kinds of rice plus lentils because could not find brown basmati otherwise. But still. Rice. And beans.
In the oven: chicken pieces coated with curry powder mixed with water and olive oil. Many spices (ie, seeds), including cumin, are considered kitniyot and therefore forbidden by us Ashkenazim. *sigh*
Still to come - mixed veggies. Corn. Lima beans. Green beans. Peas. (also, carrots.)
I also, finally, have bread, crackers and wasa bread. YAY!
