Jonathan vs. Chuck

The way things worked out last night, I watched the first forty minutes of Chuck by myself, and then we went out to dinner, after which we watched Heroes, and then, since there was just enough time before The Daily Show, we watched the end of Chuck.

Note that jonbaker does not watch Chuck and did not want to be filled in as to the plot. He pretty much ignored what was going on on screen in favor of the book he was reading.

He did look up in time for the party scene, and to see Chuck and Morgan's costume. "Oh, cool. They're a sandworm."

Very wise. I watched a couple of episodes of it at a friend's house the other day, and my friend A kept on saying "Just switch off the part of your brain that knows how computers work!" but none of us could, her included. But the slash force is strong with this show.

Yes, the slash is strong. And I have realized it bears no relationship to the real world.

But I'm really watching for the adorable. It's true that Chuck and Morgan should stop fooling themselves, and that Casey seems to have his own little boycrush on Chuck (who is, as I said, adorable), and Captain Awesome is, well, awesome. And you KNOW that Chuck's rival at the Buy More is just covering and...

But mostly, it's adorable.

I did exactly the same thing, tuning in early for Heroes.

Then I saw whatsername in the Princess Leia slavegirl outfit and wondered if they were supposed to be a Sarlaac instead.
