It's that time of year again. That wonderful, light filled time of year when I turn into an angry, frustrated bitch because someone else's holiday messes up the airwaves, takes over fanfic *and*, apparently, comic books - and the assumption seems to be that if you don't care to celebrate it, there's something wrong with you. And I let everyone know it, which I assume is extremely boring for everyone. And annoying, too. Probably more than the holiday itself.

This year, I want to try something different. This year I'm going to be smugly superior instead. You want to infect my comics? I just won't buy those issues, even with the rather cool covers. Make my December comic's bill that much smaller. I hardly read fanfic anymore anyway, so that's not a major loss - and the people whose stories I do read happen to not like any holiday stories. Just a coincidence, but a nice one. And I'm watching less and less TV as it is, between the computer and working and all. So - again, no big loss. Or maybe a gain.

But that's not where the smug part comes in. The smug part comes in when everyone is running around shopping, and I've *done* all my major holiday shopping already - two boxes of candles and a new oil menorah with the oil and wicks I need for it. Oh, we have a couple of gifts to buy, and I want to make latkes one night, but while everyone else is going nuts, I'll be nice and calm.

Will it work? Who knows.
