conventions:
I go to several a year. They're where I go to see many of my friends. I met my husband at one. If I don't go to one for a few months, I feel the loss.
fandom:
Two different definitions. One is the community of fans, whether general sf/filk, or media. One is the source material for whatever fan fiction I'm writing. Both are important to me.
gen:
Fan fiction focusing on something other than romance. Means one needs an actual *plot*.
israel:
My other country. My homeland. One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I love it and I cannot be objective about it.
lord peter wimsey:
The noble detective, hero of a series of mystery novels and in love with one of the most intelligent and interesting women I've ever encountered, who turned him down numerous times before she said yes.
my wonderful husband:
jonbaker 14.5 years of marriage, and counting. We share so many interests but have enough differences that we always have something to talk about. I love him.
regency romance:
Lords and ladies; magnificent country estates; intrigue. Men in really tight pants. And it's fun to write, too.
slash:
What I write, and much of the fanfiction I read. M/M romances and adventures, with angst and laughter and varying degrees of explicitness. Some of them might even be canon.
television:
Used to be my addiction. It's the source of my source materials, for the most part; it's something to veg out with when I'm tired or ill. It's the source of much of my informaation (thank you, Jon Stewart.)
transmetropolitan:
Spider. The Filthy Assistants. A city full of horror and wonder in a Futurama gone dark. Darker. A political campaign that must have seemed impossible, and that I wish hadn't been quite so prescient. Brilliant series of comics.
