The idea of sushi at an italian place would worry me. But, it sounds like they managed that pretty well (probably helps that you avoided anything with raw fish). Sounds like a great meal. Nice that your mom is so adventurous when it comes to food. My grandparents, both sets in their early 80s, won't eat anything more "exotic" than Salisbury steak at an Elias' Brothers. Ugh!
