Okay, that was annoying. After lunch, which happened to be chicken, I went to a local coffeehouse to buy a cup of coffee. I asked for black coffee. They handed me a cup. I took it back and took a sip - it was too hot to really taste. It dripped a bit. So I decided to take off the lid. Low and behold - *milk*.

Of course, as I was unaware of the milk, I didn't commit any sin, but I wanted that coffee. I paid for that coffee! So I asked the one agent in the office to watch the phones as I exchanged cups. But it was very annoying.

Good thing that you have only a religious objection, and not a dire allergy, such that a sip didn't send you into anaphylactic shock.

Not that I'm pooh-poohing the religious objection.

Which is why I was only annoyed - there are any number of reasons why someone would not want to drink milk, and mine was fairly minor in the scheme of things. I know people who are allergic to casein, and vegans may be more disturbed by it, as I am permitted milk - just not *then*.

But a barista has to know that when someone doesn't want milk, they don't want milk.

That is not only annoying, but a sign of bad custoemr service and copuld have caused allergic reactions. What if you were allergic to lactose or casein?

Geez.
