Rant - healthcare

sraun wanted a rant on US Healthcare. Please note that this *is* a rant, and thus more opinion than anything else, and I might get things wrong.

When I got to Pa-kua tonight, a very young black belt told me I had to call Master Ilona. She didn't sound well.

She asked me to cover the class. With five minutes warning. She gave me an idea of what to do, and that was that.

To make matters worse, I couldn't find my uniform pants. I still can't.

So not only was I teaching the class, I was teaching the class in a *skirt*. Fortunately, a very, very full knit skirt that impeded my movements not at all. I also had to keep my stockings on - and I normally go on the mat barefoot. Good thing both skirt and tights were black. :)

I had an orange belt lead the opening movements, and a green belt lead the kicks (no way could I lead the kicks in a calf-length skirt, no matter how full. They wouldn't be able to see anything) and then we sparred and then we did rolls and falls. And even the twelve year old yellow belt who didn't want to be there listened and did what I said. And we did have a workout.

I'm going to keep looking for my pants, but I think I'm going to have to buy a pair of black sweatpants. Which is fine, actually.
