Once upon a time...

There was a series called "The X-Files". It featured a brilliant, tortured and altogether gorgeous man and an equally brilliant, enigmatic and extremely beautiful woman. They were partners in the truest sense of the word, bouncing his intuition over her logic as they went after monster after monster. Some said they were in love, but others said "No."

And they inspired Stories. Stories about their past, their present, their future. Stories about the love they shared, or didn't share. And some of those stories were worthy of these partners, more so than the episodes themselves.

These are two of them. They are gen, not het. They are full of angst and pain, and less comfort than many of you would wish, but comfort rarely plays a part in XFiles. And they are full of plot and original characters with three dimensions.

And they are extremely long. One, Oklahoma, by
Amperage and Livengoo, is 975K; the other, Corpse, Livengoo, is 725K. There is no sex in either of them. There is some slash subtext, but not much.

And the writing has its flaws, as well. But read them anyway. They are good, and they are reminders of how good XFiles was, once upon a time.
